Well, here it is August already, and I hope you’re having an enjoyable summer season. Susan and I, along with eight other region members, had a great time at the 55th Annual Porsche Parade in St. Charles, Ill. It was seven days of Porsche-filled fun. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Chicago and checking out the sights. You can read Susan’s story beginning on Page 19. |

Our Member Appreciation Brunch on June 27th was well attended and enjoyed by all. Our gross receipts for the day totaled more than $5000 to benefit our three charities. Thanks to all who attended. As always, your support is very much appreciated.
Just a reminder that August is “Alternate Vehicle Month,” so don’t hesitate to drive one of your other modes of transportation to both breakfast meetings. Of course, Porsches are always welcome.
There are several events coming up you won’t want to miss. On Wednesday evening, August 18th, Santa Barbara Porsche will host a technical session on the Panamera from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Get an up-close look at Porsche’s newest model and learn all about the latest technology from guest speaker Rick Perkins of PCNA. Look for the flier on Page 21 and RSVP today.
Make your reservations, too, for the annual SBR Progressive Dinner set for Saturday, August 28th, sponsored by Rusnak Westlake Porsche. We’ll visit the home of Doug & Nancy Maletz for salad and appetizers before driving to Tuscany II Restaurant in Westlake Village for your choice of four entrees. We’ll complete the evening with dessert at the home of Dick & Linda Lange. This event will be a sell-out, so don’t delay. Call Doreen Pankow or Ted Lighthizer today at (805) 527-8280.
Mark your calendars for the Concours Detail Clinic on Saturday, September 11th (following the Santa Barbara breakfast) from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Lavaggio’s in Agoura Hills. Veteran concours judge Dick Douglass will provide expert instruction and give you the pointers you’ll need to enter your car in our October 10th Concours d’Elegance at the California State College Channel Islands campus. You’ll find all the information on Page 18 of this edition, so check it out and get signed up today.
Drive carefully and we hope to see you soon.
