    • September 16th 2017 Tire Rack.Com Street Survival School

      SOLD OUT

      •    Students are given two hours of classroom training interspersed with a series of driving exercises with a coach while driving their own car. Students practice various braking and avoidance exercises using a variety of cone configurations, and they practice controlling their cars on a wet skid pad.

Challenging courses are created in a controlled area to allow the students to experience abnormal car behavior and then learn the proper way to handle the new situation. This provides the students with useful skills to help avoid accidents and to learn how to keep their cars under control in a skid.

The students will become more observant of the traffic situations they find themselves in. They’ll learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves.

    • November 11th, 2017 Silver Splendor Private Railcar

ONLY ONE seat left don't wait ACT NOW

It’s a roundtrip train ride from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo in a beautiful double-decker train car from a bygone era - The Silver Splendor!

Enjoy fantastic views of some of California’s last original native coastal landscapes: the legendary surfing beaches of Hollister and Cojo-Jalama, Point Conception, the massive rocket launch sites at Vandenberg Air Force Base, historic Honda Point, marine, avian, terrestrial wildlife and much more.

Portions of the rails run adjacent to the historic trails etched by Spanish explorers Gaspar de Portola and Juan Bautista de Anza on their epic journeys through Alta California.

Bring a picnic lunch and plan on a fun, relaxing day riding the rails on the superbly restored dome car - The Silver Splendor. Our privately owned, vintage railcar is a pleasurable remembrance of American passenger trains from the ‘40s and ‘50s. The dome car is pulled by Amtrak on 1761 North and 1790 South. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Actual travel time is about five hours with a 10:00 a.m. check-in for tickets at the Santa Barbara station with return to Santa Barbara at 4:30-5:00 p.m. The stop in San Luis Obispo is approximately 50 minutes. When reboarding at the SLO Amtrack station, passengers will switch levels so all can enjoy different views.
